Here are the five Claude changes from the week of October 5, ranked by how much they help you, each with one thing to try today.
1. Monthly API credits on Max and Team plans
Max 5x gets $100 a month, Max 20x $200, Team Standard seats $20 and Premium seats $100 (pooled, capped at $500). Free, Pro and Enterprise plans aren't eligible, and you must have been on the plan for seven days.
- On claude.ai go to Settings > Billing (Team: Organization settings > Billing).
- Under API credits, choose Link organization and pick or create a Claude Console organization.
- Review the Supplemental Credit Terms and link it.
The catch: credits cover the Claude API, Message Batches, the Console playground, Managed Agents and the Agent SDK, not interactive Claude Code or extra usage. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.
2. Claude Haiku 5.5
Released October 7: model ID claude-haiku-5-5, $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 output for prompts up to 100K tokens, 1M context, the fastest model in the lineup.
The catch: the same text counts as about 30% more tokens than on Haiku 4.5, and prompts over 100K tokens cost $0.50 in and $2.50 out.
