What it does
Normally, when you hit your usage limit in Claude Code, it stops. You wait for the reset, often hours, even if you were one prompt away from finishing.
Claude Code now has a lower-priority mode for that moment. Turn it on and Claude keeps working on your session instead of stopping. Your requests go to the back of the line and run when Anthropic has spare capacity, so it can be slower, but you are not locked out until the reset.
- It keeps your session going after the limit, at lower priority
- Responses can pause while it waits for spare capacity
- It still counts toward your weekly limit, so it is for finishing work, not starting fresh
- It is rolling out quietly, so not every account has it yet
