Humanizer: Make Claude's Writing Sound Like a Person Wrote It
A free, open-source skill for Claude Code (and Claude.ai). It checks your text for the 26 signs Wikipedia's editors use to catch AI writing, marks every one, strongest first, and rewrites it without changing a single fact
People spot AI writing in seconds: "it's not just a feature, it's a shift", "Let that sink in", "Here's the thing". Humanizer is built on Wikipedia's Signs of AI writing, the guide Wikipedia editors use to catch AI-generated text. It marks every tell it finds, strongest first, drafts a rewrite, checks the draft against the patterns and your original claims, then writes the final version. It never makes up names, numbers, dates or quotes; if a sentence needs a detail that is missing, it asks you.
The five strongest tells (from the README)
- Not X but Y: "It's not just a feature, it's a shift."
- One-line closers: "Let that sink in."
- Sayings that sound deep: "At its core, what really matters is..."
- A staged run-up: "Here's the thing." "Honestly?"
- Arguing with no one: "I'm not saying X, but..."
It checks 26 patterns in all, from overused AI words (delve, testament, landscape) to chatbot leftovers ("Great question! ... I hope this helps!"). In a blind test, judges preferred its rewrite over the original AI text 16 times out of 16.
