Skills are not prompts

You install a skill once and Claude keeps the capability. That is the whole point. You stop re-explaining the same context every session, and your output stops looking like a default template.

On Claude Code, installed skills live in ~/.claude/skills/ when they are global, or in .claude/skills/ inside a project when they are local to it. If you ever want to check what is actually loaded, look there.
