You can try Google Antigravity from inside VS Code. This guide gives you the official installation route and a small task for checking whether the workflow fits your project.
Use the official Google extension
Google’s setup guide requires VS Code 1.90 or later on macOS, Windows or Linux, plus an eligible Google account. A free Antigravity plan qualifies. The extension installs the local agy backend service on its first launch.
Open Google’s VS Code setup instructions
- Open the Extensions sidebar in VS Code. Search for Google Antigravity and check that the publisher is Google.
- Install it, open its Activity Bar entry, and complete the Google sign-in and setup.
- Open a small project you can safely experiment with. Start with an explanation of the code before requesting an edit.
What the free plan means
The pricing page currently lists a $0 individual plan, unlimited tab completions and command requests, and basic weekly limits for agent usage. It lists Gemini models, Claude Sonnet and Opus 4.6, and gpt-oss-120b. Unlimited completions do not imply unlimited agent work. Check the live page and your account’s model picker before planning a large task.
